Sacrosanct Demonopathy is the third album from Finland's Warmoon Lord and finds them continuing their aural assault of melodic yet savage second-wave black metal. I love the atmospheric acoustic passages, some of which have an almost Rush-like progressive feel, others a creepy, unsettling vibe, all of which work well to offset the blasting drums and chainsaw guitars. The howling vocals bring a lot to the proceedings, and listening to Sacrosanct Demonopathy is like riding an intense carnival house of horrors ride with lots of ups and downs. There are moments when you feel enveloped by impending dread and others when you might be looking down the throat of hell. There's a variety to their music that isn't the case with a lot of black metal, so check out Warmoon Lord if you are into early Emperor, Evilfeast, etc.
