Hot damn. This is fast and furious (uhuh) black metal reminiscent of what was going on in the late '90s and early 2000s. Chilling, insane, demented shrieky vocals from beyond the grave accompanied by razor-sharp guitars and drums so fast you just can't keep up—maybe too much of a blur, really, but it's still fun. Very raw stuff, but with a hint of symphonic black metal thanks to the keyboards which manage not to water down the ferocity of the music even one tiny bit on the Warmoon Lord tracks. Both Warmoon Lord and Vultyrium come off completely insane on this, with Vultyrium being more on the raw and minimalist side and not going the symphonic way at all, but both bands (one guy in each "band," in fact) are a good combo on this and I like how the songs flow together despite there being two different artists on display. This is one of those albums (well, split) that's wall-to-wall sound that doesn't give you any breathing room. Saddle up, you're in for one hell of a ride. |
