A lot of metal bands faded away in the first half of the '90s and Sacrifice were one of them, as Apocalypse Inside was their last full-length before returning 16 years later. This album is more mid-paced and melodic than most of their earlier output, but it's nonetheless a damn good thrasher. It's riffs galore and the title track stands out as probably the catchiest here, while "Incarcerated" is a mix of pedal to the metal and slower but creepy and evil thrash and everything else is pretty much in between. I don't know, but I get the feeling that the vocalist hurt his voice—either that or just changed his style—as here he sounds a bit thin and the vocals just aren't that great compared to some of the previous albums. He's not bad, but I really prefer his style on the first and, to a lesser extent, the second album. There's a lot of good thrash in here but it's not that different from what many other bands did or had already done at the time, which is just fine as the album is a good listen. By then Sacrifice had mellowed out a little while still remaining pretty aggressive. Some will like this more than their debut, but personally when Sacrifice comes to mind, I'm still stuck on Torment in Fire as a favourite. Personal tastes aside, if you're at all into thrash, this album should be in your collection just like the rest of the band's discography.
