The sound of this Chilean band really takes me back, as it really harks back to a period in the aughts when we used to get a ton of these obscure kinds of Power/Heavy/Speed bands out of Greece or South America. This is fast, messy, and enthusiastic, backed by a somewhat muffled recording job and squeaky, high-pitched vocals. It reminds me of stuff like Rosae Crucis, Airged L'amh, Skiltron, Steel Warrior and others, all of them drinking deep from the well of classics like Savage Grace or Deadly Blessing. Generally, when Armoured Knight slow down a little, like on "Endless Light", their riffs hit harder and the songs have more identity. This band is not big time yet, but they do have the stuff for it. I will keep an eye out. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
