This Chilean band by the name of Armoured Knight plays speedy traditional metal with crisp guitars and vocals that need work, but which give the music on their debut, The Quest for Sacred Melody, a bit of unique charm. The '80s vibe is enhanced by the production, which is on the flat, muted side, not unlike so many underground releases back in the day. Dying Victims Productions have made it their mission to bring bands like this to light and, while Armoured Knight's songwriting doesn't really stand apart from the multitude of bands out there today, they go at each song hammer and tongs, and the energy is undeniable. One more album to check out if you are into retro/traditional heavy metal. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
