This is an Italian band with their debut of deliberately retro Heavy Metal in the tradition of Rainbow, Dio, Attacker, even Saxon in the old days. There's nothing about their sound that dates from after 1990, and I like that. But it has to be said all their influences were better than they are. That's not really shocking, but it is a bit of a disappointment. You want a band to build on what has come before and not just imitate it. Some of the riffs on here are good, but the weak guitar sound keeps them from sounding as good as they could. This is also a band who tend to repeat themselves too much, so if you thought a riff was mediocre, wait until you've heard it 48 times. Vocalist/Drummer Mirko de Domenico is just kind of there. His voice doesn't have much range, power, or personality. He gets the job done without hurting the songs, but that's about it. This band has the right idea, but they're not ready for the big time yet.
