This is not a new studio album but rather a compilation of previously unreleased material – 26 minutes of it. As can be expected with such a release, this is a bit disjointed and I didn't like it much on the first listen. It got a bit better with time. There are quite a few catchy tracks here and some of the stuff is pretty solid, though nothing you haven't heard before, be it by Six Feet Under or death metal band xyz. If you know the band, you know exactly what to expect here. Personally, if found the thrashier songs to be the best, getting the foot tapping and the air guitar playing along some cool guitar parts here and there. Ultimately, fans might want to get this for completion's sake. Interestingly, this appears to be a digital-only release. |
