This certainly brought a smile to my face, which I think is Gama Bomb's strongest selling point. You know straight off the bat that you're in for a quick, fun, and thrashing assault. Ideal for the live setting and of course parties, parties, parties - grab a bottle and a smoke and start slamming around your house/bar/club/street etc. Fans of bands such as Municipal Waste, Anthrax or Fueled by Fire need this in their life. However I will say that Gama Bomb rise above the competition here. Their riffs are choice, their lyrics, vocals and song titles are just the right amount of quirky and they pack enough face-melting solos to keep fans of the more technical brand of thrash happy. Listeners hoping for a more involving listen should look elsewhere because this is exactly what it does on the tin – brainless thrash guaranteed to get your head banging. Even better you can download this for free from Earache, so you have no excuse not to hear this – who wouldn't want 30 minutes of mental thrash for free? Recommended. |
