Trinity of Suns is the second album of trippy, '70s-inspired heavy metal from Germany's Lynx. There is some electric guitar that has no effects on it, which gives the album an old, spacey atmosphere. The riffs are good, whether it is straight up hard-rocking heavy metal ("Voyager," "Stranger Sign in the Sky") or more introspective tracks ("Seven Days of Darkness"), and singer Amira Zine has a good voice for this kind of music. If you like proto-metal bands such as Hawkwind and Pagan Altar and the newer acts blending that style with traditional heavy metal like Legendry and Wytch Hazel, you should really enjoy Trinity of Suns, as Lynx does a nice job combining that vibe with solid songwriting. |
