Old-school demo-style death metal fans, rejoice! This French band was formed in 1988 and released some demos between 1990 and 1992 and this compilation slaps pretty much everything on two discs, totalling just over an hour and eighteen minutes of raw, putrid, early death metal: it's not a new band rehashing it, it's the real deal.

This is all demo-level recordings, but overall everything sounds pretty good, in a DIY way, of course. It's fast and savage and not as thrashy as I would have expected for the time period, and that growler can bark like there's no tomorrow, dotting the i's and crossing the t's on the raw, dirty, sometimes cavernous music on offer. Lots of nice little riffs that catch the ear and some thunderous drumming, again sounding better than I'd expect from demo recordings from that time. Of course, with this being a compilation, it's basically a gathering of songs rather than a cohesive album, but we know that getting in. Recommended if you like your death metal putrid, basic and savage.
