Second album from this UK band, who are the only Elizabeth Bathory-themed band I know of to have a female vocalist. Not like you can tell that by listening, I just think it's nice for them to be thematically on point. This is surprisingly layered Black Metal that has the expected slashing riffs and pummeling attack, but also leavens it with sweeps of Dissection-style melodic rips that add a somber and classic sound to the songs. Some of the tunes go on longer than they need to, but the sound is visceral enough to keep you interested anyway. Definitely a band to watch. |
