Cemetery Reign is a one-man death metal band from New Mexico in the southwest deserts of the United States. The debut album, Confined to Time, contains songs written in the dark depths of the pandemic and are being released now in 2026. The melodic and thunderously crushing guitars and dry, guttural vocals of Bolt Thrower are clearly inspirations for Cemetery Reign's music and if are you are going to emulate a particular band's style, you might as well go top shelf. Staying away from the grind and technical ends of the death metal spectrum means songs like "Pendulum Clock" and "Captive in a Coffin" have enough thrash DNA to appeal to a wide range of tastes, even those that don't typically stray into extreme metal. Heavy, evil and with abundant hooks is how I would describe Confined to Time and it should work equally well for pit divers and sideline headbangers of all stripes. |
