Remaster of the second album for long-inactive UK band Thus Defiled. I found their debut nice enough but rather lacking in drama or identity, but I think this one is better. Now this is still orbiting the state of the art for the genre in 1997, so it all sounds rather primitive and unformed, and this band can't really decide if they are trying to be Emperor or trying to be Thy Serpent. That said, I still find the songwriting on this much more interesting and satisfying than on the debut. There's more variety, more energy, and more feel. This may not be a lost classic or anything, but it was worth unearthing it.
