Debut EP from this Louisiana band, and it's a startlingly mature package. The sound of the recording is full, live, and organic-sounding, much more warm than cold, despite the often dissonant riffs. The songwriting shows a lot of development, with the typically atonal Black Metal riffs switching off with a much more melodic, post-metal style of play, and the trading-over makes for a much more distinct and interesting sound than either one would alone. Will be interesting to see where this band goes. |
