Oh yeaaaaah, that's the stuff. I had only heard Voorhees on their split with Slave One, Disciples of the Machete. I went back to the previous two albums, Chapter Two and Chapter III (they have some weird album numbering going on...;)) and, while they're both good to very good, 4 blows them out of the water. This is heavy and dark death metal that's absolutely infectious. I've been stalling on writing this review because I wanted to keep on my regular playlist longer, but the time has come. The growls are top-notch and mostly decipherable, though I keep thinking he says, "smash an Uber" in the first song. Obviously, that's not what he's saying, but I chose to hear that anyway. ;) What they've done here is something I rarely see in death metal, and that's to come up with eight songs that are insanely catchy while being brutal and obscure as fuck (as one would expect from a band named after every horror fan's beloved Jason Voorhees). I practically have the whole album stuck in my head, so much so that I almost don't need to put it on. ;) Crunchy, tight guitars with soul-devouring solos meet equally tight and fast, earth-shattering drums, all coming together to bring you one hell of a headbanging fest—and you better dust off the air guitar and air drums because you will need them. Voorhees have set the bar very high for themselves with this one. Additional Information
