This is a debut EP for this unsigned band from El Paso, Texas. This is blaring, chugging Trad Metal that is definitely part of that Texas sound that includes other new bands like Abysswalker, Eternal Champion, or Graven Rite. There's a lot of energy here, and even if the riffs are pretty derivative, they play them with a ton of confidence and a surprisingly good sound for a self-made EP. Vocalist Dani Pinon has a decent voice, and he attacks this with a lot of verve, but I think his voice would be better suited to more nuanced, epic sounds than the more pugilistic approach of this EP. Still, this is a crunchy, lively good time, even if it is not doing anything amazing. |
