This is one of those bands—or was, rather. This is a one-man band who existed for almost 30 years, putting out a swarm of demos, splits and EPs before quitting right before the only proper full-length is released. Kvlt enough to qualify as almost pretentious. This is exactly the kind of down and dirty, churning, low-fi sounding basement Black Metal you expect from this kind of outfit, and it delivers. Definitely aiming for that Beherit, Krieg, Wind from the Black Mountains kind of vibe, where the bitter, grim atmosphere is much more important than anything about the songs. Every song has its own intro track, and it gets old pretty fast. This is simplistic, raw, and has a certain underground charm, but it's not what I would call "good." |
