Sudden Impact is the second album from Spain's Redshark and is once again full of '80s-inspired heavy metal. There is less focus on speed, though they still blaze along often, and the vocals remain a throat-ripping scream. There are some cool riffs, but the songwriting is not as strong as on the debut and there aren't many songs that leave me with the urge to play them again. That doesn't make them bad, just not overly memorable. There are once again elements of Vicious Rumors, Overkill and Armored Saint in Redshark's sound, so if the '80s output of those bands is high in your esteem, Sudden Impact will likely have you banging your head.
