Aedan Sky is a new solo effort from Galderia guitarist/singer Sebastien Chabot that is releasing The Universal Realm, the band's debut, via Rockshots Records. The music is pure, turn of the millennium power metal and damn, is it good. Whether it is crunchy, speedy tracks like "Beyond the Vortex of Time" or songs overflowing with pomp and sweeping keyboards such as "A Kingdom to the Stars," Chabot has hit the mark each time. This album doesn't innovate or push the envelope, not even a little bit, but everything is so infectious, it is hard to be bothered by that. Devotees of high-pitched vocals, perfect harmonies, copious double-kick drumming, neo-classical solos and all the rest of what makes power metal so much fun should have no trouble with The Universal Realm, except maybe to stop playing it over and over. |
