With almost an hour runtime and only 5 tracks, you know something out of the ordinary for Black/Death is going on here. This is far more ambitious than the standard blast-and-screech stuff, with long songs, spacey interludes, and unconventional song structures. The recording job on this somewhat lets this down, as it does provide a lot of space and depth, the layering is crude and the guitar sound is weak, so these compositions sound muddy rather than epic. There are a lot of riffs on every song, but not many of them are really first-rate, so there is a lot of paint being thrown at the wall, but not much of it is all that colorful. I applaud the ambition to make this, but Antiversum can't really carry it off.
