Not exactly a new EP from Sodom here, but a remix of "1982" as well as re-recordings of their early songs "Witching Metal," "Victims of Death," "Let's Fight in the Darkness of Hell" and "Equinox". We'll have to wait a little longer for all-new stuff, but this here is pretty cool. No surprises here, this is Sodom like we've been hearing them in recent years. Fast, heavy, fine-tuned, and still delivering a raw sound without sounding like a half-baked mess. It's been a long time since I heard the original versions of the rerecorded songs, but they still sound old school here, performed by guys with a lot of experience under their belts this time around. One could have been worried that Sodom couldn't deliver the savagery of the old stuff, but this is in-your-face blackened thrash on steroids and your neck is in for quite a workout. It's not essential, but it's a lot of fun to listen to if you need a quick blackened thrash fix.
