Some cold, grim and raw, '90s-style black metal is what Geist of Ouachita offers on this debut album. The crunchy and heavy guitar work really gets thing going and those insane, hellish cavernous screams are downright haunting at times (don't bother trying to decipher those). There's some melody to be found amongst all that chaos, a blend not unlike what you can hear on some early Burzum and the likes. Not original, but a well-executed slab of a classic sound.
