This Finnish band has been around for 20 years but have only put out two albums, this being the second. If you like fairly raw and slightly thrashy Black Metal then this is going to be good news for you. Black Beast are clearly beholden to the second wave, with cold atmosphere, hammering drums and thrashing riffs. There's more than a bit of resemblance to Desaster, especially in the vocal department, but also in the sense of evil glee in the chaotic riffing and relentless aggression mixed in with a sometimes surprising sense of melody. This is just a massively entertaining disc. |
