Arctic Flame have been around for over a decade (and how does it date me that I remember their debut EP from '05?) Since then they have produced four albums of which this is the latest, and unfortunately, they do not seem to have improved any in the years since they first came together.

This band is very US-Metal - which is in no way bad - except they kind of embody everything weak about the US melodic metal scene. There's nothing horribly wrong with them, they don't outright suck, but they just don't have very good songs. They have a good guitar sound, and play some ok riffs, but their songs are all tremendously tired and cliché sounding, with nothing to really grab onto. Singer Micheal Clayton-Moore is a definite weak point, as he sound a lot like Aska's George Call if George Call sucked - he's really got no sense of phrasing and just yammers out lines without any charisma to speak of. The vocal lines are pretty much ass too, with nothing catchy about them that you will remember.

This band is really in a boat with more recent Gothic Knights releases, as they have a lot of the parts to be great, but they just don't assemble them in any kind of compelling way. This is depressingly average.
