If you're like me, you've been longing for some new Megiddo material for nearly 10 years. Well, Sepulchre is what ChorazaiM has been up to lately, and there's a hint of Megiddo in there, with a twist. It's hard to review this without comparing aspects of the two bands, so that's what I'm going to do.

Whereas Megiddo was more of a raw, crunchy and h-e-a-v-y Black Metal that slowly ripped your guts apart and made you like it, Sepulchre is a more straightforward, slightly more accessible approach to Black Metal that throws in a bit of a punk-ish/crust vibe, though that influence is not as pronounced as that of newer Darkthrone material, for example. Megiddo's material was memorable, while this here is just more catchy - not quite rocking but close enough - even the vocals, while very close in style, are at times a bit more melodic. Don't worry, not that melodic: the raspy, spiteful vocal style is nearly intact for the most part and rips through the ears just as much as it has in the past.

Basically Sepulchre sounds to me like a catchier, more laid back version of Megiddo that, instead of pinning you to the ground like a little bitch and making you beg for mercy, makes you break out the air guitar and air drums and rock your heart out, Black Metal style. Don't worry, your neighbours are still guaranteed to hate your guts for playing this loud - it's raw, it's dark, and it's not pretty. But ultimately the real torture here is the length: just over 15 minutes? Are you fucking kidding me? I want more of this stuff, now!
