Oh what the fuck? I was underwhelmed by this band's last disc, the super-generic Anima, but I was unprepared for how frigging annoying this album would be. This is filled with incredibly tedious songwriting that makes you listen to forty-eleven riffs and time changes before they will ever get anywhere near getting to the point, if there even is a point, which there mostly is not. Choppy stop and go riffs remind me of Pantera with ADD, the vocals range between a perfectly innocuous clean voice and a terrible, embarrassing wanna-be ‘tough guy' style that makes me cringe. The guitars go treeebly-treeebly-diddly-wee without once wringing out a riff or a lick you ever want to hear again. The drums are all fills and rolls and all that other shit that nobody cares about, and the keys jizz fucking hammond sounds all over the fucking place. Even from a prog standpoint this is insufferable. |
