Now here's some truly amazing Death Metal coming from, surprise, surprise, Chile. Chile has always been considered one of the most promising breeding grounds for devastatingly dark and murky Death Metal and Thy Serpent's Cult prove it loud and clear with their second studio album, Sedition, Sorcery and Blasphemy. They clearly belong to the top tier of Chilean Death Metal bands. What Sedition, Sorcery and Blasphemy is all about is total darkness, blasphemy and destroying the Christian world. Most importantly, these Chilean Death Metal warriors understand how to make Death Metal that is the real fucking deal! Their stuff is as intense, brutal and wonderfully crafted as it gets, full of unorthodox tempo changes, technical finesse, beautifully blistering solos, sorrowful and atmospheric melodies and totally amazing death growls from a vocalist going by the alias Hatred. If you combined Immolation with Vital Remains then spiced it all up with some Deicide-esque elements, you'd have an idea of what a jackpot of Death Metal this album is. This is how Death Metal should fucking sound with a couple of extra "fucks!!" for good measure. Hands down, this the best Death Metal release of 2014, at least for me. Thanks for putting this incredible album together Thy Serpent's Cult! |
