Teitanblood are an insane, chaotic Black/Death band from Spain who are in that same school of blasting as Black Witchery, Utuk-Xul, or Impiety, only they crank it up to 11 with songs that blaze and hammer away for like 12 or 15 minutes. Everything is mixed into a hurricane of black sound that writhes and snaps and crushed everything in front of it. I could say that their songs are way too long, but the sheer excessiveness of it is part of what makes it kind of awesome. This album is almost 70 minutes long, which should be way, way too long, but somehow it is just a face-ripping good time. The vocals are a dry howl that calls to mind Asphyx, and some of the riffs buried in the seething mess of the assault are pretty damned awesome. Not for the faint of heart. |
