This is a compilation of a band I have never heard of before. Tartharia are a Russian Death/Black act, and this is a compilation from their first decade of four albums and sundry demos and EPs. I have to say I'm not really impressed. This band gets a good recording, but they are not recording much I like. This band is addicted to using their instruments almost strictly as rhythmic noisemakers, and the idea of 'riffs' seems almost entirely unknown to them. Vocals range all over the map, from a bad screech, to a decent bellow, to a completely horrible hardcore whine. Industrial touches litter this entire disc, and they do not help make this not sound like something shit out by a band in love with yelling and making loud noises rather than playing music. Ugh.
