I was not expecting much from this, because do you have any idea how many Black Metal promos I get? And after that question, how many of them are just bland? Most, I would say, as just plain boring, and this looked pretty generic. Actually, though, I find this to be pretty damned good. The production is solid for an indie release, and the songwriting is much more advanced than I expected. A lot of this is standard if well-executed tremolo riffing, but this band also mixes in an almost trad- metal sense of melody to their riffs that gives this album depth and bite beyond the average. Not revolutionary, but a solid slice of melodic BM.
