Sanity's Rage play a fusion of Thrash Metal that blends the aggressive yet melodic riffing of the Bay Area with the angry, hardcore-tinged shouted vocals of the East Coast. There is literally nothing on You Are What You Swallow that you haven't heard before, even if you've only been into Thrash for a short time. There aren't any standout tracks, though none are particularly weak, either. There are just lots of loud, frenetic riffs, passable solos, socio-political lyrics and yapping barks, the latter which actually get monotonous rather quickly. Thrash devotees are the only ones likely to get a whole lot of mileage from You Are What You Swallow, but I've certainly heard worse. |
