This is a Maltese band who have been knocking around for better than 20 years, and I have heard good things about them, but never heard them. This is their first disc in seven years, since the well-received Ominous Bloodline in 2005. This band has a reputation for being somewhat technical, but they are not really in the clickety-click camp with acts like Nile, but rather akin to old Morbid Angel or Immolation. That said, this is decent, but not amazing. The riffage is solid, the vocals are decent, the production is a bit muffled but otherwise ok. Overall, this album is not bad, but not great either. If you are in the mood for some fast, choppy Death Metal, then this will do it, but there's nothing to make it stand out from the pack. |
