Review

This is the debut for German band Sceptor, who play a pretty stripped-down bare-knuckles style of Heavy Metal that reminds me a good bit of outfits like Solemnity or Gunfire. There's nothing really extraordinary about this: the riffs are okay, some of the leadwork is good, and the songs are put together in a workmanlike fashion. The production is decent, and the vocalist has decent pipes. The problem is that there's nothing that really grabs you. Nothing will offend your ears, but nothing will capture your attention either. This band has the right idea, but they didn't bring their A-game this time.
