It's been a while since I last heard an album that sounds like this and I can't say I missed that sound much. Messy, purpose-less keyboards, crappy vocals (a vague attempt at growls that comes close to metalcore-ish vocals) that make you wonder if there's something wrong with your stereo, and some playing that seems to attempt to sound technical – in the worst sense of the term – and ends up sounding like a mess. The band changes direction within songs so many times as to make some of them completely senseless. Not much in terms of redeeming qualities here (still looking for some, in fact). "Through Your Silence"... *hits Stop button* Ah, that's better. |
