This is a side project of Death/Black stalwarts Stillborn, and while it is entertaining in places, in a lot of ways it comes across as half-assed. For one, this is only about 30 minutes long, and despite a 17-song tracklist, only half these songs are real BM songs, while the rest are annoying space-wasting atmospheric bits that unfortunately contain no atmosphere whatsoever. When this cranks up, it is perfectly serviceable Death/Black metal, but there's only about 20 minutes worth of it scattered in among all the bullshit. In the end, this makes you wade through a lot of crap to get to anything interesting, and the meat of the album is pretty b-grade after all that. Annoying. |
