Have you ever wished you could find some power metal that isn’t so fucking happy sounding sometimes? Well if one of the main complaints I have heard about the genre is the overall "happy" sound that the genre has. That is not the case with me since I love power metal but if you are one of the people I mentioned above this is an album that is for you.
Tyrant Eyes is a power/pure metal band from Germany and I use that category of metal very loosely since this is so much more than simply another power metal band that is cloning Helloween. Within the scope of Tyrant Eyes new album you will thrash style riffs that bring back the memory of some kick ass bay area bands such as the song "Magic Touch". Although singling out one song would do a disservice to rest since most all the songs show this influence. You will also hear keyboards but not done in the traditional power metal feel. Some of the keyboard work sounds as if it would fit right into one of those epic black metal bands. The vocals are clean but have a very menacing style sound at times, which really adds to the overall enjoyment of this album. Add all of this together with some excellent song writing and some kick ass leads on the guitar and you have one FUCKING KICK ASS ALBUM!!!!
If you haven’t noticed I kind of liked this album a little…heh. I had never heard of this band before but if this is any indication of the quality of the material this band is capable of releasing then I will become a major fan very, very quickly. This is one of those albums that I would consider selling plasma for to get the money to buy it. HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Favorite Tracks – What the hell are you still reading for…go buy this album already!!! THIS WHOLE ALBUM KICKS ASS!!!
