Hailing from Cyprus, 3-piece Thrash outfit Blynd sounds so unashamedly like Pantera that you could almost call them a tribute band. I didn't like the songs on their debut, The Enemy, back in the 90s when they were collectively known as Vulgar Display of Power and I can't say time has changed my feelings toward them. The bass heavy mix and "brutal" vocals are too close to Nu-metal for me. If you like this style of music, by all means check out Blynd. They play with undeniable energy and conviction. Of course, if you like this style of music, you probably aren't reading this review... |
