Late 80s/early 90s Thrash cast from the same mold that formed bands like Biohazard, Pantera and Sepultura is what you'll find on Tormenta's EP Tormented Souls. You get the shouted gruff vocals over loud, aggressive riffs and pounding drums characteristic of the pioneers of that sound. Tormented Souls add nothing new to the style but it is well played with lots of energy and it never strays into nu or core territory. Not my cup of tea, but if you like that transitional Thrash period, you could do worse than check out Tormenta. |
