This was billed as some kind of Doom, and it is – kind of. I have to say this isn't really like anything else I can compare it to. The mix is very rough, making the whole sound pretty shapeless and baggy, but the fact remains that there are some really good riffs buried in this thing. I expected more clean vocals, but instead we get a kind of dry bark that is not bad really, but just kind of lifeless and uninteresting. The guitar sound is weak and the drum sound is flat and hollow, which makes it kind of hard to follow the songs as songs – they just kind of meander around. Great songwriting could overcome the poor recording easily, but the songwriting here is just kind of so-so. Overall I find this interesting, but not exciting. A curiosity. |
