This is a cool little disc of underground, grimy Death Metal from the depths of South America. This band started out with two members of the great Dominus Xul, and vocalist Claudio Salinas is still with the band, providing the right level of evil gurgling. This is far better produced than that highly obscure band ever managed, but is still an enjoyable slab of extremely deep-voiced, hateful, chaotic Death Metal, very much in the South American tradition. Solid riffs, guttural vocals, and some surprisingly good leadwork highlight this album, and all of the songs here are fun and headbangable, with enough dynamic to make them better than generic. Trimegisto are unapologetically a Death Metal band, and this is nothing original or groundbreaking, but it is deadly enough for its purposes. |
