I've read some good and bad things about these guys, even that this album here is boring. Well, I beg to differ. While it's essentially "brutal" Death Metal "by the book", Slaughtered is one nice Death Metal onslaught, pretty much pinning you to the floor from the first note to the last. Fast-paced for the most part with the occasional more mid-paced breathers, this sucker packs a lot with pounding drums that actually don't sound the same through and through for a change, some crushing riffage interrupted here and there by melodic yet visceral solos, and a top-notch growler handling the vocals – guttural but not too much. All of this served with a powerful sound, just clean enough but leaving a bit of necessary rawness. Severe Torture aren't inventing anything here, but damn, the delivery makes up for it. I wouldn't want to get caught in the mosh pit during this tour, things could get bloody.
