Trident are another "Death/Black/Something" band getting out a debut on Regain Records. This is a new band, attested by the fact that there is as yet no M-A page for them, which is annoying for a reviewer. Anyway, this has exactly what I expected: blasting drums, faceless riffs, repetitive songwriting, and a vocalist who goes "Aaaaahhhhhhhhh!" a lot. This is well-produced and solidly played, but it does not do anything you have not heard 10,000 times before, and it really doesn't do any of it well enough to justify having to listen to it again. After a few spins I found this album really getting kind of tiresome, and I bet you will too. Competent but uninspired. |
