From the weak name, I was not expecting much from this, but this is a solid slab of Death/Thrash from this Swedish band, who have been punching out demos for like eight years and have finally produced a full-length album through the dependable Pulverised label. Death/Thrash is all about speed and riffs. Tribulation have the speed down, but their riffs are not quite as good as they could be. Still, this is some enjoyable mayhem from a band with real potential. This is a short disc, but it keeps the intensity up and keeps hammering away. The vocals are a standard gargle that doesn't do much, but they do nicely stand in the zone between Death and Thrash vocals. The guitar tone could use a bit more bite, but now I'm nitpicking. Tribulation keep the energy level high and keep ripping your face off. Worth a look. |
