Fucking Your Creation was the previous album I reviewed from this Greek one-man band. I went back to check it out and I was stunned to see how I could actually do a copy and paste of what I wrote then! Cursing Your Will to Live is, in fact, following in the same path as its predecessor.
Here fast, raw and spit in your face type of Black Metal, mind you done with a fairly good sound production, is what you get. Simple, repetitive, blasphemous Black Metal where we are being told to fuck off on just about every song. This is what the info sheet has to say about this release: "A sonic curse against mankind, against goodwill and philanthropy". The previous album was a five track 37:54 long one that came with a Moribund sampler. Cursing Your Will to Live lasts almost 68 minutes and has no sampler. The first half of this album is pretty much built on the same structure, then on the second part a bit more creativity and variety is introduced. Some samplings, sick vocals, crushing guitars, piano and melodic tremolo picking appear on my favorite song : I Was Challenged to Enter the Gates of Blasphemy. On the closing track, I Kept Standing With Disgust, we have more vocal samplings, a bit of organ, crickets, a musical box and some calmer parts.
"A veritable middle finger to the too-commonly accepted complacency of nowadays Black Metal"! Well, I love Black Metal but I don't care about those who think of themselves as being more Black Metal than Black Metal!
