Blackthru is a Lithuanian act founded by a young Justas Balsevicius. This artist was born in 1988, the year I got married! This makes him a young composer and me, an old fan!

After releasing this first album, Justas changed the name to Triangle of Art. The influences are said to be taken from bands such as Lunar Aurora, Nargaroth, Drudkh and Shining. I would add that a certain Xasthur's edge, sound-wise, was also thrown in the mix, but perhaps this was unintentional. I'm making reference here to the dissonance coming from the clean guitar sound, due to a down-tuned instrument (out of key?) creating some sort of psychedelic/spacey atmosphere. Is Tamsos... offers on this 27 minutes short opus seven tracks of melodic and ambient Black Metal. The instrumentals intro and outro consist of nature samplings, keyboards, some bass and drums reinforcing the ambient aspect of this act. For the remaining five songs, Justas composed a series of melodic numbers combining symphonic keyboards, distorted guitars, drums (drum machines?) and superb vocals. The overall mood is haunted, greatly helped by the vocals and keys in that effect. For one, the keyboards often sound like female back vocals; then the real vocals are of the ghostly whispering/rasp type. They are very tasty and spooky!

Is a pleasant musical work that includes some interesting compositions such as Kai Tamsa Uzvaldo Mintis) intro), Mirties Sese Liai and Eternal War.
