Annihilator is a band that has been around a while and has had Jeff Waters, the lead guitarist, sometimes vocalist and bassist, as the driving force behind the band. Everyone seems to think that this band is great and one of the best thrash that has been released. I strongly disagree. I think that they are a good band with talent, but they never really were on the level of other bands of the time. Their first release was a decent album, but their sophomore album sounds really boring and generic.

The vocals on this album sound like he is just going through the motions. Randy Rampage on the first album was a better a vocalist than Coburn Pharr is on this album. Coburn Pharr's voice sounds the same on almost every song. The guitar leads are nice but not really anything special. The riffs are pretty good but don't seem to have much variety. A few times I found myself thinking of the wrong chorus for songs because the riffs sound too much alike. This is a decent album that would be perceived much better if it was released by a new band today, but this was 1990. This was right after many other thrash bands had released excellent albums that destroy this one. This isn't really good or really bad. Some enjoyable moments, some repetitive moments, pick it up if you really liked Alice in Hell or if you feel the need to own every thrash album.
