Second album from Portugal's Dragon's Kiss and it picks up where the debut left off. There is another fistful of hard-rocking metal riffs that hover around the red line in terms of production that once again smashes you right in the face. That wouldn't be so unpleasant if even a few of them were great, but there's nothing here that rises above average in that department. The wild, shouting vocals aren't awful but are an acquired taste adding to the hit or, more often, miss nature of The Return of the Wild Dogs. I kind of like the lead work on "Blazing Fire" and the "hidden" live track is decent, probably the best song in the bunch, but otherwise this release hits me the same way the debut did; rough and tumble bar music that is occasionally interesting but mostly unremarkable.
