I enjoyed this band's debut and I'm liking their second album, Retribution, even more. They still crank out excellent riffs and the guitar tone is killer, the kind you could count on from underground bands back in the '80s. The vocals are still a bit wild but much better this time around and some of that wildness is actually a good thing, as Burning Sun are just really into '80s-style US metal. Whether it's singing that has as much energy as talent, infectious songwriting or cheesy effects like howling snowstorms and overwrought spoken word passages, everything fits and makes for a throw your fist in the air good time. If bands like Steeler (the Ron Keel/Yngwie Malmsteen version) and Savatage to more recent bands like Hammerfall and Mob Rules are in your playlist, Retribution has something you'll like.
