2022's Deceivers must have been pretty successful because they made a video for almost every song (I didn't double-check this claim, but they made a lot of them for one album). That album set the bar pretty high as far as I'm concerned, and this new one is not quite up to the challenge. Blood Dynasty is mostly in the same vein, with some songs or at least some riffs that could very well have been on Deceivers. We get the occasional clean vocals (on "Illuminate the Path"), a cover of Blasphème's "Vivre Libre" which is a ballad entirely sung in French with clean vocals, and it really sticks out. I personally don't think it's a good fit, but that comes down to personal taste. Lots of speed and, of course, no shortage of melody, and some passages that could easily fit on a crunchy, speedy power metal album—at least until Alissa's expert growls kick in. Deceivers was a hard one to top and, while Blood Dynasty doesn't quite live up to it, it sounds 100% modern Arch Enemy, so if you like their recent stuff, you're pretty much guaranteed to like this one as well.
