Hirax have actually been a going concern again for a while now. After their breakup in '89, they came out with The New Age of Terror in 2004 and have been chugging away ever since. I remember this band as being a noisy, kind of punky Thrash band, and almost nothing has changed since those days. How much you enjoy Hirax now will depend a lot on how much you like retro '80s Thrash, because this is so retro you would swear it's a remaster from 1988—the songwriting, riffs, vocals—all of it is just like the old days. At 21 minutes long, this is very short, but it doesn't wear out its welcome, and it kicks all the way through.
